Captivate needs better accessibility controls. We need to be able to hide things from the TAB order and screen readers. In particular when we are showing a popup box with info in it. We need to be able to set focus to this popup box and “hide” everything below it from the screen readers. Articulate Storyline does this by offering something called “Slide Layers”. When setting these up you are given the option with a check box to “not allow the users to interact with items below this layer”. This “Hides” all info below this layer from the screen reader and tab order.
Our Federal Government clients require full 508 compliance. Not having this feature means we are extremely limited on what we can offer as far interactivity. Please take a look at accessibility within Captivate. Improvement is needed.
Thanks for your time!
Hi Russ,
Your post reads like you are talking to Adobe. Keep in mind that this is a user forum. If you would like to request a feature upgrade you can do so through the following web tool:

I concur. Accessibility seems to be a second thought rather than a priority. As a university offering government financial aid, we are required to make our content compliant as well. More accessibility options would equip us to accomplish more using this tool.
