Have you ever needed to add page numbers to an eLearning project? That’s easy with Adobe Captivate and in this short video I show you how.
I feel like the biggest advantage is that I have complete control over the variable and page number. I’ve worked on projects where question slides weren’t included in the page count so the page count would look something like this – page 1, page 2, question, question, page 3, etc. While you can certainly do that with cpInfoCurrentSlide and a little math, I find it easier (and faster) to use a custom variable, plus, if I add another question slide I don’t need to go back and refactor the page number (Just remember not to increment or decrement the variable on the question slides). So, I guess to really answer your question, using a custom variable and the method I use or something similar makes it easy to be flexible in how the pages in an eLearning course are numbered.
