I wondered if it is possible to exchange a cursor in captivate for something else. Let’s say you have a balloon shooting game, so you aim at balloons and need to shoot down certain categories. In such a case I need a scope view. Something of this sort
Is it possible in any way?
There is indeed a lot of confusion. Flash Player is always confused with the application used to build the majority of all games available. The former Flash Builder, now labeled Animate CC is very much alive. As you told it is not limited to SWF output. I use it to create HTML animations, OAM’s which import perfectly into Captivate. I just regret that the Edge family was killed by Adobe, because Edge Animate was much more user friendly for simple animations than Animate CC.
Intrestingly, the flash software (now Adobe Animate) is still gonna be developed by the company as an authoring tool. I’m a user of Flash CS6, and I think it’s a very decent tool. People associate the name “flash” with “flash player” which caused safety issues and stopped to be supported by IOS. But the output produced in Adobe Animate or Flash CS 6 doesn’t have to be SWF. It can be HTML 5. There’s also oam format which is a good solution for captivate. Unfortunately, oam from what I know, is a feature of Adobe Animate not flash CS6. Adobe probaly changed the name from Flash to Adobe Animate because the name ‘flash’ scares people off 🙂
There used to be a wonderful widget by InfoSemantics that allowed to replace the cursor by any custom image. Too bad, it only works for SWF output, there is no HTML alternative yet. You can have a look at:

Hi,
The cursor can be changed for Mouse movements only in Adobe Captivate. Please check the link here: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/mouse.html
