Our organization uses the Canvas LMS and I would love to begin a discussion about things others have learned using Captivate with Canvas. I’ve got the SCORM integration enabled and have imported an activity successfully into a course, but am curious if others have experienced any challenges or successes that they could share?
I am new to Captivate. Our organization uses Canvas as an LMS. We would like to create some scenario based , interactive professional development courses for staff.
When you publish a Captivate course to Canvas LMS does it publish as a link or can you actually embed it into modules?
I have used Captivate in several courses at a couple different levels.
We have lecture series that are embedded into Canvas courses and the lectures are run through a Captivate player which uses the TOC to let the user navigate to different parts of the video.
I have used small professional development modules with short assessments in stand alone PD courses…the SCORM integration allows for the scores to be reported into the gradebook.
I am looking at the new version of Captivate and considering purchasing because of the ability to embed questioning into the video player itself. This will be very useful in my situation.
I had no issues with the SCORM import. There are some issues if trying to embed documents etc. (scrolling window) into Captivate and having this work properly when running in Canvas. It is a known issue, and maybe future updates will make this possible.
This discussion forum can be helpful to those of us using Canvas LMS.
